Don’t take back pain… sitting down!
In the UK, one in six sick days are attributed to to back pain. Many hours seated at your office work-station can result in acute pain which could so easily be avoided. Adopting the correct sitting posture is absolutely crucial, along with regular stretching and walking breaks.
Sit back and utilize your chair’s lumbar support to keep your spine erect. Adjust the seat height so your desktop is level with your elbows. Avoid contact between your calves and the seat edge. Two fingers (preferably your own!) should slip easily under each thigh. If not, use a footrest to raise knees level with the hips. Get it right and ‘Whoopee! – no back pain’.
